The Yeovil oak framed porch from £3,675 + delivery
The Yeovil is a green oak framed porch. It can be ordered for a dwarf wall configuration, as shown in the pictures below, or full height to suit
traditional brick or plaster infill panels and timber infill designs.
It can also be supplied as a 'lean to' design, see bottom picture. Despite the traditional nature of the design, this porch frame also works very well on a modern property. Please read the ADVICE NOTE below which explains how green oak is affected as it dries out.
Green oak is particularly prone to shrinkage as it dries out. This can result in dimensional change, splitting, twisting, bending or other deformation from its green (unseasoned) state. In addition, you may see tool marks which are caused by the lifting equipment required to move the timber in the workshop and knots of varying sizes. If you order a green oak porch from us, these characteristics may be present but as each batch of wood is different the extent of these can vary. In general, the characteristics noted here are what give green oak constructions their character and they should not affect the structural integrity of the construction. Where they are present, we do our utmost to position the face or side in question in a location where they will not be too obvious. If you would like to reassure yourself that the cracking, also know as shakes and twisting etc are perfectly normal features of green oak construction there is a wealth of information on the internet. Please see our Product Advice page under the 'Get A Quote' tab for further information about green oak.
